An award-winning reporter for several Front Range print and online outlets including Colorado Community Media and Landmark Publications, Tom Skelley joined the Evolution team in October 2017 to further his goal of creating positive local, national and global change.
Tom uses the storytelling skills he honed as a journalist to create compelling content and build relationships between clients and media outlets, connecting these organizations to the communities they serve. Much of his writing and reporting covered innovations, challenges and pioneers in the healthcare field, another aspect of his experience that complements much of Evolution’s client base.
Some of his most impactful projects with Evolution include creative direction and earned media management for Tri-County Health Department's "Let's Talk Colorado" campaign, content creation and media relations for the Colorado Department of Human Services/Office of Behavioral Health's "Speak Now!" campaign, and creative messaging for the City of Lakewood's "Recycle! It's Good for Lakewood" campaign.
Prior to journalism, Tom worked as a Montessori teacher for 15 years, where he developed a passion for issues concerning children from all backgrounds, such as educational inequality and food security. Some of his most meaningful professional accomplishments occurred working with children in Head Start classrooms in Denver’s Five Points area.
Tom graduated summa cum laude from Metropolitan State University of Denver with a degree in Convergent Journalism, a discipline encompassing writing, photography and public relations. He is an avid photographer, drummer and SCUBA diver, but he is most proud of being a devoted husband and father.
